You Know You're a Teacher When...

Lately I have been doing a lot of blog-browsing/stalking of fellow teacher's blogs. I always find comfort in reading about other teachers' lives and how they manage their classroom. My life at school has been a roller coaster over the past week. Some days are completely and utterly exhausting, while other days I leave feeling a huge sense of accomplishment! I even found myself taking the time yesterday while at Wal-Mart to park in the farthest spot from the door just so I could walk in the rain for a little longer. It was almost a "release" to help me wind down from the day I had just experienced. Weird huh?

To another teacher, it may not sound so weird: which got me thinking-there are so many characteristics that are "teacher-y" that only teachers can understand. Not many people know what it's like to wake up in the middle of the night with an idea for a great lesson plan, or who search through the $1 bins at Target religiously for classroom prizes. Not everyone DVR's the shows that their students watch to gain a better understanding of their group, or spend hours on YouTube searching for science rap songs. (Speaking of that-we are rapping about the layers of the Earth again tomorrow with a new rap I found!)

A while ago, I found this list titled, "You Know You're A Teacher When" that I wanted to share with all of you. If you are a teacher, or you know one, you are sure to get a kick out of it.
